Ourdoor Surveillance Aircraft
Aircraft have been used for outdoor surveillance ever since they became practical enough to fly regularly. In fact, their first major role in warfare was as a means to direct artillery. In a sense, they are still being used in this way. Unmanned drones still serve this very function, among many, many others. Surveillance with drones has serve to greatly increase the military capability of any ground force, while at the same time lowering casualties, both of civilians and of military personnel. Thus even in war, surveillance equipment can help save lives.
