Under our wings

When many of us think of organic bedding, we think of sheets made form a variety of natural materials. And though this is definitely true, there are more organic bedding products available than just sheets. The organic industry has expanded and there is now organic mattresses, pillows and comforters available in organic materials. Organic mattresses are available in a few different materials, one of which is wool. Wool mattresses contain metal springs that are covered in wool. This is an excellent material for a mattress because wool is a natural fire-retardant, which means that the mattress does not have to be treated with harsh fire-retardant chemicals. It is law to have a fire-retardant mattress, and so most mattresses are treated with chemicals. With organic wool, this is unnecessary.
