Most marriage experts and councilors agree that some of the root causes of divorce are poor communication, lack of commitment to marriage, change in priorities, infidelity and financial problems. However, not all marriages fail for the same reasons. Failed expectations or unmet needs, substance abuse and addictions can also lead to a divorce.
