What’s A High Level Process Diagram?

A high level process diagram or a high level flowchart is a small flowchart showing only the important steps of a process. It is used only for quick reference. In a high level process diagram, the finer points are not shown – only the main steps are shown in a sort of summary of the entire process. It helps for getting a preview or a gist of the whole process, and to explain the process to nontechnical people. In order to have a more technical view of the process diagram, the smaller points are added in minute detail later on; such a technical process diagram is called as a detailed process diagram or a detailed flowchart.
