I Had To Put In Roof Windows and Skylights To Pass Zoning
When we had our new home built I wanted to but a garage on the end of the house and have it connected. When I took the plans in showing the garage addition I was told that I could not do it as it would leave one room without and outside window. I asked if roof windows and skylights counted and was told those would work fine. All I had to do then was take the plans back to my architect and have him redo the roof design to include the new openings. With a skylight the room will probably get more light than it would have with a window.
