Causes of Gout
You may wonder that you feel too much pain when you have gout, have you ever think the causes why it exists? Gout is caused by the deposition of uric acid as crystals in joints. The crystals cause an inflammatory reaction that creates the intense pain that those with gout experience. The uric acid gets crystallized into joint when the blood levels get too high. The main reason for high blood levels are the kidneys not excreting enough. Uric acid is produced from purines that are normally taken in as part of the diet. Gout mainly affects the big toe joint of the foot and is easily diagnosed as the joint is usually hot, swollen and red or inflammation would likely occur.
