Finding a Niche in Construction

My brother and I run a thriving construction business, but it wasn’t always profitable. We started out about twenty years ago in general construction, making bids on every kind of project imaginable just to generate income to keep the business afloat.  We were working on a project at a college, ripping out old laboratory furniture and replacing it, when my brother came up with a great idea. If we started focusing on just one specific area, in our case educational institutions, then soon we would become local experts.  The plan worked! We travel all over the country building on school and college campuses.
